On the eve of celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Fortuny Trio is enjoying an intense period of activity throughout Europe.
Formed by violinist Joel Bardolet, cellist Pau Codina and pianist Marc Heredia, the Fortuny has consolidated a distinctive artistic profile through performances at major European venues and the recording of its latest album, Echoes, featuring works by Suk, Magrané and Tchaikovsky.
In parallel, the trio maintains a strong commitment to newly created music. This season it is giving the premières of several works written for the ensemble, including new compositions by Ferran Cruixent, Francesc Prat and Josep Ollé, as well as a triple concerto by Joan Magrané. The Trio also collaborates with artists such as the dance company Mal Pelo and the singer Inés Cuello.
The dialogue between these three musicians reflects the influence of Ferenc Rados, Rainer Schmidt, Claudio Martínez, Gary Hoffman, Anton Kernjak, Dmitri Bashkirov and Jonathan Brown, among others. They have appeared at leading festivals such as the Wissembourg International Music Festival, Portaferrada, the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, L’Auditori de Barcelona, the Bachcelona Festival, the Palau de la Música de València, Ibercamera Girona, the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical and the Palau de la Música Catalana, where they are currently in their third season as artists-in-residence.
