Soprano Iria Goti, from Ferrol, began her musical studies at her hometown conservatoire before continuing her training at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Centre de Perfeccionament at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. During this period, she worked with Enedina Lloris, María Bayo, Marie Vassiliou and Marcus van den Akker.
Her stage career encompasses a repertoire ranging from Mozart to nineteenth- and twentieth-century opera and zarzuela. She has performed the roles of Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, Ilia in Idomeneo, re di Creta and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart; Lesbina in Il filosofo di campagna by Galuppi; and Marie in La Fille du régiment by Donizetti. Her repertoire also includes Trujamán in Falla’s El retablo de Maese Pedro and Maguelonne in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon. In the field of zarzuela, she has appeared as Menegilda in La Gran Vía by Chueca and Valverde, and as Cosette in Bohemios by Vives, both at the Teatro de la Zarzuela.
Her close association with Spain’s leading opera institutions includes participation in the Teatro de la Zarzuela’s Proyecto Zarza and Crescendo, the Teatro Real’s young artists programme. She has also taken part in Carroza del Real and Les Arts Volant, initiatives that bring opera to new audiences and communities, and has given recitals as part of the Fundación Ópera Actual’s concert series.
Her achievements have been recognised with first prize at the M. I. Academia de la Música Valenciana Chamber Music, Voice and Piano Competition (2024), first prize at the Ciudad de Albacete National Singing Competition (2023), and first prize at the Germans Pla–Ciutat de Balaguer International Singing Competition (2023).
